Baby Quilt

Not strictly (or at all) card related I know, but I like to indulge in a bit of sewing now and again.

The pictures below are of a baby quilt which I've made for my sister who is pregnant with a boy who is due in a couple of months.

There are four different types of fabric. The white with the blue pattern was a pillowcase which belonged to my nan. She died a couple of years ago but I kept the pillowcase thinking I'd make it into something in the future so this was the perfect thing. Baby would have been my nan's first great granchild, she was a wonderful lady and would have loved to be around to see him so it was nice to have a bit of her in something for the baby.

This is my first quilt ever so it isn't perfect but I don't think it's too bad all things considered! It took me a day to make but I enjoyed it and will definitely be making more in the future as I quite enjoyed it.

And a close up of the fabric...

Oh WOW, what a stunning quilt,Nicki. Your first quilt ever!? You could have fooled me (LOL) It is absolutely brilliant! Great choice of fabrics too. Also I can't believe it only took you a day to make I think it would take me a whole day just to get myself organised and cut all the pieces. You are a star.

Oh, you are clever. I love to see different crafts when Hopping, so thank you so much for sharing this lovely project. I can't believe it is (a) your first go at patchwork and (b) it only took you a day - you are very clever!
